Is it possible?
Should it even be possible?
This ache of empathy
Is essential
To being.
The sentient are made to feel
— sense that interconnects us to each other,
A gift that makes us feel for each other,
With hearts beating
So comes pleasure, so comes pain,
And so comes responsibility.
Even should your heart be hardened,
May it break so it’s soft underneath may be moved,
To care for and about another,
Another being,
Like or unlike
You.
Sentient being,
You were made to feel,
Made to care,
Sentient being
May empathy be
The sacred practice
Of your soul;
May it be so,
